Option 1 — Self-serve deletion (fastest)
Sign in, open Settings → Account → Danger zone, and select "Delete my account". Your account, uploads, extracted text and generated audio are scheduled for permanent deletion within 24 hours and fully purged within 30 days.
Option 2 — Email request
If you can't access your account, email privacy@imagetospeech.org from the address associated with the account. To prevent fraudulent requests, we may ask you to verify ownership before proceeding.
What gets deleted
- Account profile (name, email, hashed password)
- All uploaded images, screenshots, PDFs and extracted text
- All generated audio files
- API keys and session data
- Usage logs (after aggregation/anonymization)
What we may retain
We retain a minimal record of the deletion request and certain billing/tax records as required by law (typically 7 years), in fully anonymised or pseudonymised form where possible.
Timeline
Verified requests are actioned within 30 days, usually within 24–48 hours. Backups containing your data are overwritten on our normal rotation, no later than 90 days after the request.
